About Us
Garlic and Roses is a news site that exists to bring cooperators around the country closer to the food co-op movement. We explore the big picture stories and small acts of solidarity that define grocery cooperatives. Garlic and Roses is a worker cooperative incorporated in Washington DC.
Our Team

Mike Houston (he/him)- Control Freak
Mike has been to all 50 states and is welcome back in most of them. He never follows the recipe so his chili is different every single time. In his free time Mike listens to music from the 90s and manages a food co-op in Takoma Park.

Tyler Kulp (he/him)- Gabber/Dreamer
A big shot over at the slaughterhouse, Tyler made a million back in World War 2. Squandered on donuts, records, and recently on Garlic and Roses web hosting fees.

LeAnna Nieratko (she/her)- Probably a Simulation
LeAnna spends most of her time hanging out with her kids, accidentally joining communication co-ops, staving off the ever-looming dread of a homogenized food system built around nutritionally dense but profitable slurm curated by our overlords, having a good therapeutic cry in the walk-in freezer at Erie Food Co-op, and writing run-on sentences long enough to qualify as cardio.

Brady Nash (he/him)- Grammar Police
Brady spent 40 years as a night watchman at a cranberry silo and wore an onion on his belt, as was the style at the time. He will understand all of your Simpsons references and is an avid co-op customer. In the rare time he spends not watching Simpsons reruns, he serves as a faculty member at The University of Florida.

Jeremy DeChario (he/him)- Eat the Rich
Jeremy didn't get his bio in on time. Wouldn't it be kinda funny if we just leave it like this forever?
